So you think you’re ready for a Color Boost?

Yippeee! Here are the steps to know for sure and how to book!

So, its been 18 months plus (hopefully even longer) since you had your second session and you’re feeling like your brows need a refresh. Great! What you want to look for is that the pigment is very light, at minimum 50% lighter then when they healed at your touch up or more. The reasoning why is to make sure that over your life and the lifespan of your brows we are letting the brows get light before implanting more pigment into the skin. When microblading first came out years ago the industry standard was to tell clients to come back a year later for a touch up. Why? Because it typical for most clients, but then pigments changed (because they were turning red overtime) and became better and more stable. That in turn made for the life span of your cosmetic tattoo to stay looking beautiful for longer! YAY!

What can happen if we keep doing touch ups without letting them get light?

  • Brows will become dark and oversaturated

  • Look cool and unnatural

  • Stop fading over many years of getting touch ups over good pigment

  • No longer look like hairstrokes

  • Build up of scar tissue

Now, this is not meant to scare you but its meant to be up front and transparent of what can happen. This is a TATTOO on your face that is meant to live with you. It’s meant to be there when you sleep, wake up, sweat, go swimming, offer a guideline if you like to wear more makeup or be there on your no makeup days. It is NOT meant to take the place of makeup so if you are emailing saying you are filling them in that doesn’t mean much to us. This is a tattoo healed into the skin that will never have the vibrancy of topical brow products. Remember, there is no price difference for color boosts whether its been a year or three years- so let those babies fade so we can keep them looking fresh and natural!

If you are bare faced and your brows are looking very light then that could mean YOU ARE ready for a touch up!

If your brows are indeed light and you want a touch up please send your artist via email a picture of yourself with:

  • No makeup

  • Full face (not a super close shot of the brow)

  • Facing a window with natural light

If you are approved you will be sent the booking link to book.

There are instances where the brows are very light at a year and thats okay, as long as they are light. Skin type (Oily), sun exposure and products your use (Retin A, AHA’s, etc) will fade the brows faster. Feel free to send your artist a picture if you are unsure.

Please understand that we want you to have great brows forever and that is why we ask you to take our expert advice seriously when it comes to this. We know that when you feel you are ready and we say, not yet… it can be frustrating but know that we would rather be the artist that has integrity in our craft than take your money and give you bad brows.
